i wanted to thank all of you who sent prayers and warm thoughts and healing vibes in the direction of my sister in law in california who found out in november that she had pancreatic cancer at age 44. she managed to get five more months before she could fight no more.
my father called yesterday to tell me that despite everyone's best efforts, that she has only a couple days at most to live and that her organs are shutting down.
they are trying to keep her as comfortable as possible and she is surrounded by her family and has a strong faith as a mormon that this isnt the end for her.
.....sincere condolances.

did anything exciting or alarming ever happen at your hall?
i remember only funny incidents, like one brother getting up there with his zipper down.
(i knew alot of brothers after that felt no shame to actually check down there before going up on the podium!
We have some interesting stuff going on right now. About six years ago, a 19 year-old girl married a 30 year-old brother. She immediately became pregnant...twice. She wanted more "things," and he could never quite provide for her in the manner in which she thought she should become accustomed. So, she divorced him and was disfellowshiped. Then, she started living with this other guy, but he didn't have any money as he was in the military. But, she had a baby with him too. Then, she moved out of his apartment, into another guys apartment, and she had another baby. We aren't sure who his father is. But, the baby was white, so we THINK we know who the father is. BTW, her first husband was black, and she is white, so we are pretty sure the first two kids are his.
So, now he is "dating" a sister in our congregation. His ex-wife gets wind of it, and now SHE has begun attending the meeting again...with some guy (we aren't sure who he is) and her two kids. But, her first husband treats her other kids as if they were his own. So, he sits on one side of the hall, with his kids, and this sister he is dating. She sits on the other side of the hall, with the "guy" and her kids. But, if this brother so much as goes to the bathroom, she will stomp, and I do mean STOMP, across the hall and rip her kids out of this sister's arms.
Then, the kids start crying because she is pretty mean to them despite them being her children. It's a HUGE scene every meeting... Then, her other kids want to sit with the brother, because they are confused as to who their father is.... If they can't, THEY start crying....

jehover being the most obvious.
why was there a group in every hall that pronounced some words like a bad english accent.
also why is it pretty universal, i.e.
Oh, BTW, please disregard the "happeneded...ededede" typo :)

Your preaching to the choir Gumb. That's why we jokingly refer to speaking "American" as opposed to speaking "English." A classic example is what happended to me several Sundays ago. An elder approached me and asked, "How are you?" I replied, "I am well." He looked at me strangely, and in a questioning manner he said, "You're well?" I told him that was the correct response and that "well" is a state-of-being verb. He asked, "What is the wrong response?" I replied, "Good...if you say you feel "good," you are saying that it feels good to touch you...you feel good." He just shook his head and walked off.

I was the only one who could pronounce the names correctly
So, despite your being correct, did anyone approach you to tell you that you were using the wrong "proNOUNCiation" instead of the wrong proNUNciation?

i haven't been to the meetings in about 5 months, as i'm currently in the midst of a rather successful fade.
things are going swimmingly now, although they did get off to to a bumpy start.
for example, after i had been "missing" from the sales meetings for about 2 months, this one brother started coming over to my home without calling ahead of time or anything.
Once, as she was trying to get out of a long row of seats so she could make her way out of the KH, he quickly slided over and sat on the aisle seat, raising his legs up so she couldn't pass (he's a big man, so he's intimidating enough).
What a boorish behavior!!
with all the tattoo threads, i'm reminded of an awake lifestory.
this guy was all worldy with his druggy friends and his military background, and of course his huge tattoos on his forearms.
the article mentions that after his baptism, he poured boiling water on his arms to destroy the tattoos.

Remover?
A simple method for removing an unwanted tattoo has been developed by Dr. F. W. Crittenden, Jr., a U.S. Navy dermatologist. He rubs the tattoo with salt. Using sterile gauze pads that are moistened and dipped in salt, he rubs the tattoo until the skin bleeds. The surface skin is thus removed, and the oozing fluids carry away the pigments in the tattoo. The wound is dressed and a scab forms over the wound. When the scab falls off, a picture of the tattoo can be seen in the scab.
